WhatsApp Will Stop Working for Millions of Phone
Over the years WhatsApp has removed its support for several smartphones with specific Android and iOS versions. It appears that history will once again repeat itself, the company has announced.
The removal of support for certain specific Android and iOS versions is said to be a common technique as developers always prefer to support the newest updates. Therefore, users of WhatsApp on Android OS 4.0.4 or older, and less than iOS 9 version are bound to lose access to the platform effective 1 January 2022.
The only thing they can do about it is to switch to a supported Android or iOS version to continue accessing the largest messaging platform in the world.
Users on outdated versions cannot update WhatsApp after November 1, 2021; and can avoid losing their chat by backing up their chat history before their version expires.
